Adam a friendly resident neighbour helps the Heritage of Speedway29/1/2009

Hi Warwick,  You introduced yourself to me on Sunday night & asked me for some stills for your website, I have attached some, mainly of the Americans and only sprintcars, please excuse some of the angles as they all are shot through the wire. I shoot the crowd & pits as well.

 Regards Adam

 Hello Adam,

Thank you for remembering me and sending the pictures.  Our web site is www.speedwayclub.co.nz  It has set up to preserve the rich heritage of speedway at Western Springs and to have a public backed independent voice to the council in support of the continuance of speedway.  You take excellent photos Adam.  We keep all pictures we receive and post relevant ones onto the web site when a particular car or driver is mentioned in our results or articles.   Please keep in touch.  If you are interested I can arrange for you to visit a fabulous speedway museum.  You will see then why we want to keep speedway running at the springs.

 Hi Warwick,
I am glad you liked my pix, if your interested I have around  1200 more sprint car shots  to look at including pit, crowd and personalities (Americans). I would love to have a look at the museum and if possible my neighbour would be interested as well . It would be easy for us, as we are on Old Mill Road, you may have noticed a big extension on a house over looking the speed way ( it's my neighbours) We have been fans ever since we moved in.
I belong to the Auckland Photographic Society and our competition for Febuary is Audio Visuals and I have chosen to do sprint cars for my topic.
I don't know if you can help but I am interested in getting on the infield to do some shooting of the spint cars, and I am wondering what I need to do this. Being there for the warm ups and time trials is all I am interested in as the light is better around that time.
I have been around motor racing since the 1960's when my father was Pit Boss for a driver racing for Brabham Australia, I have also worked at Mt Panorama and more recently worked at the V8's at Puki for TVNZ..  I will be back shooting this Saturday so I may see you then.

Cheers Adam

Adam,

We will help in any way we can by identifying your photos, setting up a time for you and your friends to see the museum and anything else that you may need.   As far as getting on the infield to take photos, there are contractual reasons why the promoters may not be able to allow you to do that but I am friends with them and I will ask the question for you.  In the meantime I will phone you and make a time when we can get together and see the museum
