Opening Race. 1st Breyton Davison 2nd Jay Basalaj Chch 3rd Ryan Barry.  Morgan McHugh DNS.

Race 2:

1st Ben Le Cren 2nd Mellissa Baker 3rd Hayden Guptill 4th Nathan Howard.

 

F2 Feature: 6 starters

1st Trewen Joine (1st Feature win) 2nd Nick Cassidy 3rd Stephen Wilson

Rose Halfpenney DNS car problem.

 

TQ Feature; 15 laps 24 starters.

S. O’Connor jumped the start, Nevano Gowan tumbled over by himself.

On the restart Gwilliam lead out from Linklater and O’Connor, Baker, he developed a huge lead from the front runners. Yellows Lap 4 Kaz Townsend tumbled. Restart Gwilliam lead out from Ross Linklater who was charging hard, closed the gap, close behind Paul Le Cren, Aaron Wrightson, Baker. Yellow Lap11 Steve Smith tumbled. Gwilliam lead the restart from Linklater he could not get past. Gwilliam hung on to take the win, his first for the season.

1st Chris Gwilliam 2nd Ross Linklater 3rd Paul Le Cren 4th Aaron Wrightson.

 

Midget World Derby. 30 laps 20 starters.

Mosen lead the start from Coons USA, Hayden Williams, Lance Beale. Lap 2 yellow Wayne Green spun out, broke rear axle. Lap 3 Yellow Tony Elliot USA spun out.

Restart Mosen lead out from Williams who was charging hard on the high side and got too hot, then stopped, restarts from rear. Restart Mosen lead from Coons, Pickens was now up to third, followed by Alach. Lap 12 Dave Kerr collided with Jodi Vincent. All drivers were battling with the rough moist track.

Restart Mosen maintains lead from Coons, Pickens, Swindell USA. Yellows Hayden William stalled Lap 17. Restart 16 cars left, Mosen gets out to a massive lead from Coons. Final yellow Lap 21 Swindell goes up and over, on the restart Mosen lead from Pickens, Coons, Insley. Later on Mosen sadly pulled out of race with a broken rod. Pickens leads restart and won the race.

1st Michael Pickens 2nd Jerry Coons Jnr USA 3rd Shaun Insley.

DNFs  Shayne Alach, Kevin Swindell USA, Brad Mosen Tony Elliot USA, Hayden Williams, Lance Beale, Wayne Green, Dave Kerr Chch.


The track retained too much moisture making it challenging for the TQ and Midgets, only one low race line. Later in the night roller came out to smooth the track, but still held moisture.


International Sprint Car Feature: 25 laps

Lots of  yellows during the race, Sammy Swindell flat left front tyre, Jeremy Halpin spun out, Logan USA out flat rear tyre, Nick Pedley spun out.

Ricky Logan and Jonathan Allard both USA started from the front, from Swindell, McDonald, Brindle. Lap 9 Swindell pulls out with no left front tyre. Restart Logan lead from Brindle who was charging fast from Allard and O’Connor who did an amazing pass on Allard. Later Logan USA retired with flat tyre, O’Connor lead the restart from Allard and Brindle, later the master Allard past O’Connor and won the race.

1st Jonathan Allard USA 2nd Ryan O’Connor 3rd Dean Brindle. Well done Kiwis who put up a great challenge to the Americans.

DNFs- Ricky Logan USA, Sammy Swindell USA, Jamie McDonald, Mark Browne, Greg Pickerill, Hans Bore, Skinny Colson.

    Michael Pickens does it again. He won the Campion of Champions 30 lap race at Parramatta Speedway on Friday Night then was a convincing winner of the 50 lap classic on Saturday night taking the lead 15 laps into the race from starting grid 18 and from there on it was all over Rover.
